The session "Industry 4.0. The urban manufacture of the future" was dedicated to urban industry development prospects. Head of Cass Cities research project prof. Mark Brearley of London Metropolitan University and Founding Executive Director of SFMade, San Francisco, Kate Sofis shared the reindustrialization experience of their cities. At first, there were small individual manufacturing companies that appeared in industrial areas. The new owners of these areas believed that there is a certain potential in creating an active business community. Establishing business contacts brought them success in the business market.

"Unfortunately, seven years ago, when we came to what now is Technopolis "Moscow" in Pechatniki region of Moscow, rather than small manufacturing companies we found an abandoned territory inhabited by wild dogs, - said Igor Ischenko. - Our story is completely different, the brownfield zone in Pechatniki and the greenfield zone in Zelenograd are meant for localization of hi-tech industries. Those include R&D centers or full-cycle production companies, mostly medium businesses. However, in this case we too came to the conclusion that we need to create a united community for the businesspeople. The SEZ is a perfect solution to the problem: it creates an infrastructure for communication and partnership".

Margarita Makarcheva was part of the jury at the MUF LAB 208 contest. The participants competed in three nominations: "Best architectural and spacing solution", "Best technological solution" and "Best social and cultural solution". First places were given to the "City within city" project (for the transformation of the inner courtyard of the Moscow Museum into a all-season public space), the Uhome project (digital show-rooms 2.0) and Pavel Surkov’s solution ("The bank in our yard").
